With four cities already under the belt in its seven-city WINEderland 2019 tour, organisers of the Tops at Spar Wine Show have announced next year’s dates for SA’s largest travelling wine show.

The TOPS at SPAR Wine Show has successfully hosted past events in major cities such as Johannesburg, Durban, Port Elizabeth, Nelspruit and Cape Town. Currently in its 13th year of operation, it is set to once again provide one of the biggest platforms to beautifully represent the South African wine industry. Looking specifically at the Johannesburg show in June, Combrink said the purchasing behaviours were also very encouraging with a 52% growth in wine sales on 2018 with 92% of the approximately 6,000 visitors buying wine. The TOPS at SPAR Wine Show received high praise from guests in attendance this year, as reflected in Nadine Shone’s comment.

Our annual wine festival kicks off today in participating stores! Look out for a huge variety of wines at great promotional prices. Perlezza Rosé
First up, our wine of the week is the fresh and fruity Perlezza Rosé. This extra-dry fizz is one of our new summer wines. Sourced from northern Italy, this sparkling wine works well with a little summery salad, preferably as you sit outside in the sunshine! Next up is our deliciously light and refreshing Italian pinot grigio. This crisp and appley wine is vegan and so pairs perfectly with a healthy Thai noodle salad or the autumnal flavours of stuffed veggies, preferably roasted butternut squash. Last but not least, is our tempranillo shiraz red wine, with aromas of strawberries and fruits of the forest. This organic wine has a punchy flavour so it pairs perfectly with heartier dishes such as steak on the bbq, blue cheese or mushroom risotto, which is great as the nights draw in.
